This session was aimed at giving students insight and advice on how to achieve their ideal career in digital. The panel consisted of four professionals from all across the industry. Although their careers in digital are different, they had consistent advice. The digital world is all about putting yourself out there.  You have to be proactive by putting your own original content on the web and putting it in front of people who have jobs you would be interested in having.  Your online brand is important to potential employers. Resumes are still looked at but your online brand is what they are more interested in.  Putting original content on your personal sites, whether it be on your own website or on a networking site, is crucial to marketing yourself. Other advice the panel gave was to take a broad range of classes whenever given the opportunity. Not only is developing your own content important, but the ability to edit what you create is an important skill to develop. “Editing is so so so important,” said Meg Turney from Rooster Teeth. Having background in a variety of different topics makes you more versatile and marketable. The panel emphasized how important maintaining your online brand is. Now days, more and more employers are looking at your online footprint and making judgments based on the content you supply.
