Hello! My name is Morgan, and I am a senior majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Leadership Studies. I am originally from a small town in South Texas called Port Lavaca. I’m a Resident Assistant in Brogdon Hall and I just finished my third year with New Student Orientation.
The thing I found most interesting about this documentary was how by-chance everything was. Like when Ray Tomlinson was explaining how he created e-mail and began using the @ sign. He was so nonchalant about the whole thing, “we were talking about a user who was at a computer, it just made sense.” And “it just seemed like an interesting idea” to create a way to send messages via computer. AKA email, which is practically the glue holding modern society together. It just astounds me that all of these things- email, internet, etc. weren’t as popular the day they were created as they are now. Whereas now, the day some new technology is introduced it’s almost automatically in headlines.
