“You’ve got mail!” Oh, the good old days of aol-accountAOL and dial-up honestly feel like it was just yesterday.

My name is Sara Shields and this is my first semester in graduate school. I am a graduate assistant for the FDOM and Web Design classes. I have been messing around with HTML since I was around the age of 11 and I have a passion for videography. I would like to work for National Geographic, Disney, or a large hotel chain in the future either doing public relations or something involving digital/social media.

In this video, when Metcalfe mentioned how it was considered “lucky” to have one computer in a city or on a campus just blows my mind! It’s crazy to think that at some point in the past computers were this hard to access. Today, we have well over hundreds of computers on our campus and it just seems natural to have easy access to computers, anywhere you go.

The phrase that is always used about how far technology has come is so accurate. I always heard/knew about how big computers were back in the day, but never realized they were not exaggerating! I’m typing this from my 13” MacBook while watching Netflix (another amazing thing that happened to the world) and could even be typing this from my small smartphone if I wanted.
