I am not that much of a neat freak but when it comes to websites I prefer it be neat rather than cluttered. The cleaner the better. My first two sites that I picked are clothing store websites. There is a lot of information that needs to be said like sales, news, new items and they need to catch your attention just based off of looks.
Urban Outfitters use to be one of my favorite places to shop and I would mainly do it online when I was younger because I fit into the clothes better back then. There website was always super easy to navigate. It is clean and doesn’t have any unnecessary clutter. The home page has colorful photos to direct you to where you want to go as you scroll down and the top banner goes with you in case you just want to go straight to a specific section after scrolling through.
My favorite part of the website is the sale section because who doesn’t like a good sale. I specifically like how there are categories to break up what you may be looking for. You can also select price ranges, color, and sizes right at your fingertips. All while looking pretty and clean.
Gap is now changing their look. In case you haven’t heard in the news several Gap locations are closing down across the United States. I know that might sound bad but it so that Gap can switch up their cliental with out breaking the bank. We can also see this change in their website. It has gone from overly crowded to clean and fresh. Not as much blue anymore and a lot more white space.
Gap is able to still put all the need to knows on their homepage with out looking overly done. Every picture sends you to a link in the website to be able to shop more. Think that sweater the little girl is wearing is adorable? Click on it and be directed to the kid section. They use their merchandise to guide the shopping experience while keeping a clean design that isn’t confusing to the customer.
My favorite part of this website is the baby section. Is 
that weird? Not only is it my favorite because of the adorable outfits but because it is easy to navigate for someone who needs to shop for their specific child. It separates the sizes and then underneath the size it gives you an option for style. This saves busy parents time while online shopping.
The last site that I enjoy, design wise, is an artwork website. And although this may seem a little bias I assure you that I really do enjoy the design aspects of the website.
My sister, Alicia Scardetta, makes weavings and drawings. Her website is clean, simple, and to the point. Her home page has the navigation on the left and when viewing the pieces she has made, a simple scroll will show you to the next one. Her work is very colorful which helps draw focus when surrounded by whitespace. Her website is actually what I look for in a website. I don’t want to spend time trying to search. I want it to be easy to navigate and as little cluttered as possible.
