Hi, y’all. I’m Anna and I’m in my second semester at Texas State. This is my third year in graduate school, however, since I transferred from the digital media program at the University of Washington. It’s been a fun ride transition from a program that really focused on marketing side of online media to one more focused on content creation.

Watching the video really showed me how far the Internet and computer technology has come in just a short period of time. The computers shown in the video look absolutely ancient when compared to the sleek and small laptops of today even though they older computers are from 50 to 20 years ago. It’s also impressive to consider how the Internet has boomed from just a few people being able to share basic messages with each other to nearly being able to contact anyone in the world.

Reading Sarah’s post made me think of this graphic.

This graphic doesn’t have data for the past five years, but surely, the Internet penetration rates must be higher now. We’re seeing this massive growth in how technology is evolving and the number of people being able to connect with it. In a curious way, Sarah is right in that the world in shrinking as the Internet intertwines more the world together.
